Franz Skaja was born Franz Skaja 1834 of Andreas Skaja and Elizabeth Rodowna. Franz Skaja and Magdalena Knitter were married. This union bore Bronislawa ( Frank ) Kaczor , Jan Skaja( Bronislawa Karasek) Wojciech Skaja( Kunegunda and Tomasz Skaja(Rosalja Szulc )

Franz (Franciszek) Skaja orginated in Konitz Comnitz (Chojnice) West Prussia . Many of his children, cousins, nephews and nieces came to the United States between 1870 and 1890 . Among the confirmed children are:
Jan(Bronislawa Karasek), Bronislawa (Frank) Kaczor-Bronislawa Karasek Skaja was widowed 1885 and remarried to Frank Kaczor, and Tomasz ( Rozalia Szulc ).
Most of this family stayed in Chicago. Some of this family moved to Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. John Skaja son of Frank and Magdalena finally settled in Benton County Minnesota. Immigration records show a Joseph and John Skaja (son of Adalbert and Cunegunda) also settling in Minnesota. Although this family may be directly related, both originating in Prussia, proof of the common ancestor has not yet been established,.



Tomasz Skaja was born November 10, 1862 as shown in his baptismal record from Pruszc Tuchola. Ignacz, Peter, Frank, Maria,Kathryn, and Ludwig show in various records. These children married. As positive verification is obtained. Their family pages will be created.
